The Use And Advantages That You Can Avail Using Veterinary Microscopes

Microscopy is a skill of using a microscope and the notion of study of cells (cytology) and study of tissues (histology) are the most often taught in the professional veterinary medicine programs via the traditional method of glass slides as well as light Veterinary Microscopes. Number of limiting factors in veterinary training programs that you can find are encouraging educators for exploring innovative options to teach microscopy skills as well as the concept histology and cytology.

According to an anonymous online survey, it was administered through the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association to Colorado veterinarians while working in private practice. It was mainly designed for measuring their current usage of microscopes for histological and cytological measurement of specimens and their perceptions of microscope use in their veterinary education. The initial part of the survey was answered by 183 veterinarians, with 104 indicating that they had an on-site diagnostic lab.

Analysis pertaining to the usage of the microscope in the practice as well as in veterinary programs was conducted on this subset. Most respondents felt like the amount of time which was spent in the curriculum by using a microscope was just perfect for the basic microscope usage as well as using the Veterinary Microscope to view and learn about both normal and abnormal histological sections and clinical cytology. The members of it felt more emphasis which could be placed on clinical and diagnostic cytology. The result of this study suggests that practicing veterinarians frequently use microscopes for the myriad range of cytological diagnostics.
